TOP TEN: Things to do in Cape Town

Table Mountain

Cape Town is a beautiful place with so much to see and do! It is really hard to just narrow down the things to do in the city and surrounding area, but this is the list of what I would consider the “top ten things to do in Cape Town”.

NUMBER ONE: Table Mountain

When thinking about Cape Town, many people automatically associate it with the flat top mountain. So when visiting Cape Town I strongly suggest everyone takes a visit to the top! Plan wisely though, because the cable cars will not go up…

Extreme Fun: Sandboarding

When I went to college, I remember doing a specific project for one of my travel and tourism courses where I had to make a travel publication. I decided to focus my magazine on off-beat travelling fun. This was about 6 years ago now. In that magazine I had written an article on sand boarding. I remember myself wanting to go out and do it so badly! Although now it is popping up in more and more destinations, South Africa was one of the starting places…

BUNGEE

I would like to think of myself as being adventurous. Testing my mental boundaries is a lot of fun. Those feelings of fear and adrenaline combined are so euphoric. Not too many things scare me- and as much as I want to say jumping off a bridge was not terrifying, it really was. Destination: Lesotho

Face of Lesotho

I visited Lesotho on a trip through southern Africa (2012). This teeny tiny country, landlocked in the middle of South Africa is incredibly fascinating. This is one of the smallest, most impoverished countries in the world, which also happens to have one of the highest rates of HIV in the world (approximately 25% of the population) and one of the lowest life expectancies (34 years). So far I’m sure I have not enticed anyone to take a visit. HOWEVER, the people of this country are incredible! In the midst of having some incredibly challenging statistics, the people manage to…

Destination: South Africa

When I had originally planned my trip to southern Africa, it was nothing like what it had ended up being. The original plan had been to visit friends in Cape Town, tour around a bit and enjoy a month of great wine, great food and great company. That plan was abruptly disrupted when I was very rudely ditched, post purchasing a plane ticket. Lesson of life, always have a plan B.

After having a few days of heavy venting and partial panicking, I had decided i needed to fill some time. With that came a great tour which…
