Extreme Fun: bloukrans bungee

BUNGEE

BUNGEE

I would like to think of myself as being adventurous. Testing my mental boundaries is a lot of fun. Those feelings of fear and adrenaline combined are so euphoric. Not too many things scare me- and as much as I want to say jumping off a bridge was not terrifying, it really was. When your heels are on the edge of the platform, your arms spread wide open, the only thing left to do is jump! It is such an exhilarating feeling. It gives you an…

Destination: Lesotho

Face of Lesotho

I visited Lesotho on a trip through southern Africa (2012). This teeny tiny country, landlocked in the middle of South Africa is incredibly fascinating. This is one of the smallest, most impoverished countries in the world, which also happens to have one of the highest rates of HIV in the world (approximately 25% of the population) and one of the lowest life expectancies (34 years). People strive for happiness-and success -(whatever defines it).
Fathers protect, Mothers nurture.
Children evoke innocence,
and elders wisdom.
There are the good people…and the bad. People are people. Period.
…and we are all citizens of humanity…

Destination: South Africa

When I had originally planned my trip to southern Africa, it was nothing like what it had ended up being. The original plan had been to visit friends in Cape Town, tour around a bit and enjoy a month of great wine, great food and great company. That plan was abruptly disrupted when I was very rudely ditched, post purchasing a plane ticket. Lesson of life, always have a plan B.

After having a few days of heavy venting and partial panicking, I had decided i needed to fill some time. With that came a great tour which…
