posted in: Top 10 | 1

Travelling is very important to me, and ever so often there is a quote in regards to the topic that really strikes me. I have read many over the years, but these are the TOP TEN that I relate to the most. In no particular order, here they are

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover

- Mark Twain

NUMBER TWO

“If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay at home.”

- James Michener

NUMBER  THREE

” Not all those who wander are lost”

- J.R.R. Tolkien

NUMBER FOUR

” The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page”

- St. Augustine

NUMBER FIVE

” There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only who is foreign”

-   Robert Louis Stevenson

NUMBER SIX

“I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.”

– Susan Sontag

NUMBER SEVEN

“To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries.”

— Aldous Huxley

NUMBER EIGHT

“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.”

— Jawaharal Nehru

NUMBER NINE

“Travel makes one modest, you see what a tiny place you occupy in the world.”

I relate to 3, 6 and 9 the most, but particularly #3. One of the best ways to explore a new city is by simply letting yourself wander!
